Conference Mascot

Mabuhay”, the official conference mascot, is inspired from the national bird of the Philippines, among the rarest and the most powerful birds in the world – the great Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi) – and was named after the first offspring of Pag-asa (first ever Philippine Eagle bred and hatched in captivity) and Kalinawan (the Philippine Eagle from Zamboanga del Sur).

The mascot is also a call to action. Although the eagles are powerful raptors, they are defenseless towards illegal logging, deforestation and other man-made environmental hazards. Scouting, as a potent vehicle for social transformation is called to act to preserve and protect the global environment.
